Welcome to the South View Community Primary School Website. My name is Mrs Tomlins and I am delighted to be leading the school through such an exciting part of it's journey. We hope our website holds all the information you are looking for, but if there is anything else you need please contact our school office. Mrs C Henderson

Deputy Headteacher/SENCO/Maths/Child Protection

Hello, I am Ms Henderson. I am very excited about joining South View Community Primary as the Deputy Head and SENCo. This is a great position to have within the school as I still get to teach, which is my passion, but I also get to know all the children and to share their wonderful achievements and successes. I have been lucky enough to teach in a variety of schools, both as Deputy Head and Class Teacher, including teaching in the USA, and I look forward to using the skills and knowledge I’ve developed at South View.  Please don’t hesitate to say hello and introduce yourself when I’m out and about on the playground, I am really looking forward to getting to know all the members of the school and the wider community

Mrs S. Elliot

Foundation Stage Teacher/Phonics Lead/SMSC

I graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a BEd in Primary Education with QTS. I started teaching at South View in January 2013 and have enjoyed teaching in Year one and more recently the EYFS. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, travelling to new places and cooking different types of food. I have a passion for animals from around the world and I particularly enjoy observing them in the wild.

Mrs C Evans

Foundation Stage Leader/French/School Council

Miss K Pearce

Year One Teacher

My name is Miss Pearce

I am one of the newest members of the team at Southview and I will be teaching Maples this year.

I am an NQT and completed my teacher training with Teach East Peterborough (2017)

Before this I attended Bishop Grosseteste university in Lincoln where I completed a degree in Education studies.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends, walking my dog (Charlie)  and visiting different places in the world (New York is one of my favourite places to visit)

Mr E Reacher

Year One Teacher/RE/Assemblies

I retired from my previous career at the age of 30 in order to pursue something more worthwhile and something which aligns with my passions. I attended Regents University in London and studied Pyscotherapy which was when I became interested in young children’s development and how experiences of early childhood influence the person we become in later life. This is where my true passion for teaching lies.

Having gained my PGCE from Roehampton University, I worked in Early Years in London and then Bournemouth before moving to Lincolnshire and starting at Southview in Year1. Here at Southview I see an opportunity to transfer my passion for ‘play-based’ learning into KS1 making learning more purposeful, fun and engaging  for all.  I strive for my classroom to be full of imagination and wonder and happy excited children.

Outside of work I have many passions and pastimes. I have always enjoyed music despite being tone deaf and still get on my skateboard or longboard from time to time when no-one is looking as the ‘cool factor’ is morphing into the  ‘needing to grow up’ factor (and it hurts my knees).

Mrs S Gray

Year Two Teacher/PE/PSHCE

Hi my name is Sam Gray and I will be working in year 2 Willows class. I have been teaching in FS2 & KS1 for over 20 years now (so plenty of experience, patience and understanding) but have been a supply teacher for the past 2 years after teaching in Germany at various forces schools for 18 years.  I am really looking forward to teaching my new year 2 class at South View school as a full time teacher. In my spare time I enjoy going on days out with my 2 children Ethan and Cara, being a Brownie and Beaver scout leader, volunteering at my village pool (summer only!) and reading especially Harry Potter or other fantasy/Sci fi.

Mrs Lucy Baxter

Year Two Teacher/Art/DT

Hi my name is Lucy Baxter and I will be working in year 2 Chestnut class. I have been teaching in KS1 for 8 years now, and am really looking forward to teaching my new year 2 class at South View school. In my spare time I enjoy going on days out with my 2 children Rowan and Oakley, and reading Harry Potter books!

Miss N Creasey

Miss G Turner

I am the subject leader for Science in school and I always love the children bringing in their Science creations to show me. In my spare time I like to go camping with my family and enjoy spending time walking my dog ‘Little Red’ (who is not actually that little).

Miss H Brunt

Year Four Teacher

My name is Miss Brunt. This year, I am teaching the Year 4 Junipers class. This is my NQT year, and I feel very privileged and honoured to be working with a group of fantastic children and a supportive and caring staff.  I am very proud of my Gloucestershire roots, but moved to Lincolnshire a few years ago to support family - and I have loved living here ever since. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cinema and theatre; visiting museums, art galleries and places of historical significance or interest; socialising with friends and family; I also like nothing more than to paint or draw pictures, or write stories. In the last few months, I have developed a green finger, spending free moments in the garden tending to different plants and creating areas for different insects and creatures to enjoy. My favourite subjects are history, art and English, but I enjoy learning about and discovering new things and I am always looking for new ways to pique my interests.

Miss C Patmore.

Year Four Teacher/ICT

My name is Miss Patmore and I joined the team at Southview in January 2017. I graduated with BA Primary Education (with QTS) in 2013 from the University of Northampton. I have previously taught Year 3 and Year 4 and I am very excited to now be teaching Aspens!

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends, read and take photos outdoors. I also love messing about with computers which is why I now run Lego Club!

Mrs L Stimpson

Year Five Teacher/History

I’m delighted to have joined South View in Year 5. I have taught across Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Rutland for many years after my first post: seven months teaching High School in Harare, Zimbabwe. My specialist subject is Biology; I love nature and always have a fairly extensive collection of pets (some more unusual than others!). Away from school I love to ramble in the countryside, read and garden. In the classroom I aim for a positive warm environment where children can grow in confidence as they learn.

Ms S Garland.

Year Five Teacher/Literacy

Hello, I am Ms Garland and I have just joined South View, this January. I have been teaching for over 20 years across a range of Primary Schools across the Peterborough area. I have taught from Year 3 through to Year 6, but have spent most of my career teaching Upper Key Stage 2.

This year I am teaching Elms Class, who have given me a wonderful welcome. I enjoy teaching a range of subjects in particular drama! I try to make my lessons fun and interesting by using a range of different learning styles.

At home, I enjoy cooking, meeting up with friends and travelling to new places.

Mrs S Speechley.

Year Six Teacher/Educational Visits/Music

I have lived in Crowland since I was seven and came to South View Community Primary School as a child. I have three children that also came to this school. I started working here as a Teaching Assistant in 2000. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Leicester with a B.A. (Hons) in Educational Studies and at the same time achieved Higher Level Teaching Assistant status. I have worked across the school from Foundation Stage to Key Stage Two but having now completed my Teacher training I am now teaching Junipers’ Year Four class.

Miss S Bell

Year Six Teacher/UKS2 Lead/Global Dimensions/Geography

Hello! I am Miss Bell and I am privileged to be teaching the fabulous Beeches class this year.

Originally from North Yorkshire, I moved to Deeping St James over twelve years ago where I began my teaching career. I spent five years working in the city of Peterborough (Dogsthorpe and Nene Valley). However, since joining South View in September 2009, I have never looked back. Instantly, I fell in love with the school. The children are impeccably behaved and have a real thirst for learning and the staff, especially the teaching assistants, are amazing to work with as they continually go that extra mile to ensure that the children are happy and progress in their learning! What more can you ask for?

I have taught throughout Key Stage 2 and have experience in Key Stage 1. Teaching is my passion; it is not just a job to me! I particularly enjoy teaching Maths, Computing, Science and Geography. Outside of school, I like spending time with my family and taking my two wonderful children, Megan and Louis out on day trips.

Mrs J Hill.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant/Art

I moved to Crowland in 1983. My daughters came to South View after attending the Abbey 3,4,5 Playgroup, which I had the pleasure of leading. I have wonderful memories of the children and parents and the fun times we shared there. I was asked to help out at South View Community Primary School in, what were then, Reception classes. This led to me becoming a Teaching Assistant in 2004 working across Key Stage One and the Foundation Stage as it is now. Through training and professional development I gained Higher Level Teaching Assistant status in 2010. Children’s learning has been and continues to be a very important and fulfilling part of my life.

Most of my personal time is spent with friends, family, at my favourite spa or trying out a new delicacy (I love snails and raw mince)!

Mrs J Strickland

I have lived in Crowland for 30 years (all my married life!) and our son attended South View too. I have worked in education for 20 years and at South View since 2005. I absolutely love my job! Helping children to succeed in school by removing barriers to learning and encouraging them to enjoy their entire school experience is for me, the ultimate reward. I also love to increase their enjoyment of sport and (as some of you know!) I am a very keen distance runner and also enjoy cycling, squash and climbing.  I am very fortunate to work alongside great members of staff who all share the same positive vision for the children at South View.

Mr R McIntosh

My name is Mr McIntosh and I started at the school last year as a T.A. but I have been the lifeguard at the pool since 2010. This year I will be coaching sport in both key stage 1 and 2 as well as class work. Outside of school I enjoy anything sporty.

Mrs J Munton

Administration Manager

Just over 25 years ago I was appointed School Secretary, a role which has developed over the years to Administration Manager along with a qualification of  Certificate of School Administration.  During this time I have seen over 1200 children start their school life at South View.  There have been many changes during this time and with the combined strength of the staff, children and the community it makes each school day worthwhile.

In the education system there are constant changes, which also affects the administration roles and keeps us on our toes with the demands of training, new technology and the needs of our lovely children.  I am proud to work at a school to be able to witness how the children continue and develop into well rounded, respectful, polite and well mannered pupils.

Outside of school I enjoy sewing, gardening and reading.  I am also a keen member of the local amateur dramatics group, CADS, where I am actively involved with the annual pantomime and other productions staged by the society.

I have two lovely children who are both happily married.  I also have one granddaughter.

Mrs C Hunter

School Business Manager

I am the School Business Manager at South View and have worked at the school since 2003.  I live in Spalding and have three children.  Outside school I enjoy reading, live music, eating out and being on the beach !
